Good afternoon. Do you have a second? My name is Liam. I’m a medical student. Today we’re here with a number of students connected to CWAC, which stands for 'Children with AIDS Charity'. Have you heard of us? No? Well, we are a national UK charity. We want to help children who are infected with HIV or who are affected
by HIV and AIDS because a family member of theirs has the disease. We’re working towards a future without prejudice for these children
and their families. We do that by offering financial assistance to families with an infected child or who are affected by HIV/AIDS, and who are experiencing difficulties in meeting the costs of essential goods and services (from warm winter clothes, fuel bills, to beds and bedding). Our Holiday Fund offers assistance towards the costs of family holidays, because it’s important for the family to try to maintain a decent quality of life and to take advantage of the time they have left together. We also offer a transport service to help transport children and their families to and from hospital. Many such families have to survive on low incomes or state benefits, as the family breadwinner
is often too ill to work or needs to be at home to care for a sick child. We’ve also produced some booklets and videos to educate people about contracting HIV and living with the disease.
So, in order to support our charity, I’m selling these lovely cakes. Would you like to buy one?
