Hi Sarah,

You're welcome to come and stay in my flat but I thought it would be best to let you know something about the rules and how everything works. Either Emily or Lauren will be definitely there to give you the keys.
This is what you need to know.

No smoking in the house.
No bicycles inside the house. Please put them in the bicycle shed.
No noise after 11 o'clock in the evening unless the others agree (like a party or something).
From eleven o'clock in the evening the front door should be locked and the burglar alarm should be put on.
Always wash up after meals. Everybody has the right to a clean kitchen when they want to cook.
Write
down your name on your food in the fridge. Every week one of us cleans it and unlabelled or bad food is thrown away.
Don't forget to put the rubbish out (usually on Wednesday night for Thursday collection)
You can use the washing machine and my washing liquid. The bottle is in my room.
We take turns at cleaning the stairs, the kitchen and the bathroom. Emily or Lauren will tell you what you have to do. Probably you'll have to clean the bathroom.

That's more or less everything that you need to know about the 'house rules'...
By the way, you had better ask Emily or Lauren about the working of the washing machine, but just to be sure,
I'll leave the instructions on my desk. They will also show you how the burglar alarm works. Actually it is just a simple on/off switch in the kitchen. The microwave oven is simple to use, so you don't have to worry about that.

So, I hope this all makes sense. Meanwhile, have a fine week!

Lisa
