Lisa, we're happy to have you on board. I suppose Kate has already explained what we expect of you. There is one thing, above all, never forget that the 'customer is always right'. By the way, you can call us by our first names, but don't forget that the guests have to be addressed by their surname, Mr, Miss, Mrs and so on.
Great, so let's tell you about the rest of the people who work here... perhaps first the two permanent residents.
Right. Well, there's Sylvia Smith who is 56. Not only is she a very open
person, she's a fanatic on the golf course and a member of Fulford golf Club. Then there's Bill Spencer who is 52. Bill's rather quiet and likes sailing.
He's actually got his own boat down by the sea.
I don't know what we'd do without those two! Now let's see about the others. You'll come across them all the time. First there's the cook, Emma Boyle. She's 34 and has lovely brown curly hair. She's a bit of a gourmet herself
so perhaps that's why she's such a fantastic cook. You'll soon find that out
for yourself.
Then there's James Merriman the waiter who does the bar in the evening.
He's 27, a 'happy go lucky' bachelor with black hair, and a real charmer.
You've been warned!
Neither should we forget the chambermaid, Patty Bell. She has beautiful long black
hair. Her father's an African I believe. Anyway, Patty looks after the rooms, puts the fresh flowers out and so on. She's a quiet one too, but enjoys life.
Who else do we have? Oh...yes. George Wood. George is quite young at
26 for a gardener but he's a tall strong and good-natured man. He really has
his hands full with the gardens.
