Imperative
The imperative is used to give orders or instructions.
Rule:
infinitive without to
For example: To read your gas meter,
use only the white figures.
Figures or numbers?
Very often the words number(s) and figure(s) are used synonymously, but technically speaking figure means any of the number signs from 0 to 9. A number is made up of one or more figures.
Point or comma?
In English the full stop is used as the separator in decimals, while the comma is used as the separator between millions, thousands and hundreds.
